Summer through portals

Summer is finally here in England, whcih means that most are complaining about it being too hot, can't please them. Life is going fine at the moment and nothing has changed after a whole three weeks of being 15 - figures. Teachers at school are trying to drown me in GCSE coursework, and i got the orange box last weekend...
...FINALLY, I ACTUALLY BUY A GAME AFTER ABOUT 4 MONTHS, after a 'short trip' to the nearby GAME shop, i was just about ready to get stuck into Portal, TF2 and the entire Half-life 2 series; Oh how FREAKING wrong i was. Prior to getting the game, I set up a steam account and left my computer running windows bootcamped. I slot the disk in and boom, 5 games on the games list and next to all of them the words 'Downloading 0%'... it kept saying this for about 5 hours of boredom, it was then i found out that steam release updates for these games oarctically every 2 days, and because i got the damned retail version, a LOT of updating was in order. I left my Mac on overnight - twice so I could get to the lovely fast d/l speeds and after 2 days of painful waiting i finally got to play portal, and i have to say that it is

FREAKIN AWESOME!!! - everything about it- the game mechanics, the synthesized
voice that keeps breaking, the drones and the overall clinical feel to the whole game. I didn't actually mind the shortness of it, because any longer it would have just been repeating it's self and that is bad!

TF2 is also very fun, exept for the fact that everyone is better than me, and that there is not real way to practise, exept for playing and getting pwnt all the time, but heavy's minigun quickly makes progress.

Other than that, nothing else really happened here, and for those who actually read this journal of someone as unknown as me, thank you. :)

:bulletpurple: I'm currently working on the digital side of art at the moment, which means lots and lots of practising pieces which none of you will ever see :( but I will be arond here, and I might even submit something if you're lucky ;)

:bulletpurple: Turns out that my graphics card IS more powerful than my dad's, thanks to a nerd at my school.

:bulletred: A big thank you for a lovely 1000 pageviews to all my watchers, friends, and anyone else who desided to check out my page! :D :D

:bulletred: One or two of you might know that I'm not using a Windows PC anymore, in stead I'm using a 24" iMac :D, something which completely supprised me. it all started when my mum told me about the MacBook Pro, and how we had already discussed that I need a bigger screen if I'm to get any better at digital art. Pretty soon through this discussion, it was established that the keyboard on the macbook pro was to far back, and would be uncomfortable (we have wierd discussions all the time). Then an iMac was mentioned, after a bit of price-talk, i went on the 'net to findout about it, and boom.

...it was meant to be a birthday present, but I have not patience.

:bulletred: My mum, who was increadably reliant on her Vaio laptop (which already crashed with a blue screen, not the BSOD) desided that she would get a normal white (not black :( ) MacBook, and I've been helping her use it. Next, my dad, entranced but the big screen, desided to also get an iMac, this time with the bigger 3.06 processor (and the better graphics card which he dosn't need :( ) to run his very powerful music software (hes somewhat a composer) and was astounded by the fact that there was no 'latency' (whatever that is), but he often asks for help as well.

:bulletpurple: If anyone knows if/how to change a graphics card in an 24" iMac, please tell me (I've heard rumors on the internet that it is possable).

:bulletpurple: I hope to start a new big picture soon, with the new designs ;)

Thats all from me, and no, I'm not rich! - just very careful

:bulletred:Thats right me and my sister finally have the glorious markers known as copics (and another miniuture easel with any orders over £50 (~$80 or euros)). but what does this mean for my art? Well I'll have a much larger colour range and that will make things a hell of a lot easier. I can also be tonnes more accurate which means no more white ink to cover up the bleeds :w00t: I can finally extend my colour range to more than just 20 perminant markers.

:bulletpurple: one problem that seems to be arisings this this offer by the site we get all our art stuff from, they have this offer that with any orders over £50, we get a free mini easel...we now have 3...

A list of uses for a miniature easel.

:bulletred:Wierd title...

:bulletred:Anyway, a large order of arty stuff arrived yesterday (most ofwhich was used for my latest deviation (The wizards Dance)). Anyway, we got all the stuff we expected exept for 1 marker that went out of stock 2 nanoseconds before clicking the 'Buy' button, and some random CD that was ment to come with my sister's set of polychromo watercolour pencils. Instead we got a miniture easel free with the order for some reason, about 40-50 cms tall.

:bulletpurple:I've now come up with a lot of uses for this folding lump of wood (as i cannot use an easel, its pretty much redundant). I have found the current uses:

Keyblade
Air Guitar (great fun)
Book stand
Gun Turret
Arm Cannon/Wrist Blade
Axe
Handgun
Dagger
Giant Middle-Finger
Crossbow

I'll update this if I find more uses XD
